We Stand Against Racism and Oppression
The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank condemns any act of racism and oppression and grieves the loss of life and opportunity that has come from it. Our core values include respecting the inherent worth and dignity of every person and treating all with justice, equity, and compassion. The food bank’s vision of a hunger-free community calls us to understand and help eliminate root causes of food insecurity, including racism. Hunger impacts communities of color disproportionately and we have a direct responsibility to work toward equity on all fronts. We are committed to understanding the unique role we play in calling for equity and justice.
More will be required of us as we seek to intentionally reverse generations of systemic racism. The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank stands with our employees, partners, and the people we serve in seeking justice and equitable access to food.
