If you are interested in a partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, please read on for eligibility criteria or contact Mishelle Krogstad, Director of Agency Relations, at mkrogstad@fredfood.org or (540) 371-7666 x 134.
The organization must be a 501(c)(3) organization or a church
The organization must have an established feeding program that provides meals or prepacked boxes to low income individuals in their community at no cost to the individuals or households. This demonstrates an ability to manage a food distribution operation. The established program must have been in operation and keeping records for 90 days preceding the application process.
Food Pantries
Food pantries distribute food to people in the community to prepare or eat in their own residences. Food may be prepackaged in boxes/bags or distributed by allowing clients to "shop" for their own food.
Factors taken into consideration when selecting partner organizations include the existing food pantries in the area, the proximity of the food pantries to each other, the proposed days and hours of distribution, and whether the organization will also be providing a service that is not being provided in that area, such as home delivery of prepacked boxes.
If the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank determines there are sufficient existing food pantries in your area, we may suggest that you partner with an existing food pantry, rather than opening another pantry. Suggestions for partnership may include providing volunteers, organizing food drives, entering data or helping the existing agency order online, or providing monetary donations.
On-Site Feeding & Direct Delivery Pantries
An on-site feeding program is any program that prepares and serves meals at its site. Food is typically prepared and served as a congregate meal program. A direct delivery program is any program that prepares meals and delivers them to home-bound individuals.
If your organization or church meets these criteria and would like to apply to become a partner of the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank network, please contact Mishelle Krogstad at mkrogstad@fredfood.org or (540) 371-7666 x 134 to request an application form.
