For Families And Seniors
Pantry Program
Partner agencies withdraw food from the food bank and use it to stock their food pantries. The food bank is a resource for faith based and member non-profit organizations. They come to the food bank to pick up food and take it back to their individual pantries, where it can be distributed to those in need through their neighborhood pantry program.
USDA Commodities Program
The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank is the regional distributor of USDA surplus commodities available to income-qualified individuals in Planning District 16 and neighboring communities through 15 certified USDA pantry programs. Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap.
Food for Life Program
Provides nutritious food on a monthly basis to vulnerable populations, the elderly and disabled in order to supplement their nutrition needs.
Mobile Pantry Program
The Mobile Food Pantry program works to end hunger by providing food to those living in underserved or remote areas of each county. Income qualified individuals and families receive grocery and non-perishable items until the last person has received food or until all the food has been distributed to the community.
