How You Can Participate
Whether you bought too many veggies at the store or had a bumper crop in your home garden, your extra produce can make a difference to people in need.
Local gardeners and farmers can even plant one extra row of fruits or veggies in their gardens and donate surplus produce from that extra row directly to the Food Bank.
Calling All Gardeners. Plant A Row For The Hungry!
The Food Bank is encouraging local gardeners like yourself to plant a row of crops for the hungry this year. Why not team up with a friend or a neighborhood group. Your gardening skills and fresh vegetables can make a difference!
The Plant A Row for the Hungry campaign was launched nationally in 1995 by the Garden Writers Association of America. Participation is easy! Local gardeners and farmers literally plan one extra row of fruits or veggies in their gardens and donate surplus produce from that extra row directly to the Food Bank.
Sharing Your Garden Bounty With Neighbors In Need
The AmpleHarvest.org Campaign is a nationwide effort to diminish hunger in America by enabling millions of backyard gardeners to easily find a local food pantry eager for their excess garden bounty.
If you'd like to donate some of your produce, or if your pantry would like to receive extra produce, check out AmpleHarvest.org.
